Introducing...

Mallory Chappell Rumsey
9 lbs 13 oz and 20 in.
Born July 24th

This little girl waited until the very last possible moment to arrive. After waiting 10 days over my due date, Chad and I headed to the hospital to be induced. When we arrived I was already 4 cm and starting to have contractions. So they broke my water to help things along and boy did that help. After 3 hour and lots of hard contractions Mallory joined us. She was coming so quickly that the doctors and nurses were sprinting to get ready.

That bunch of dark black hair still surprises me.

Getting ready to come home.

Lucy LOVES her new sister. She continues to shower her with lots of love. While we were waiting for Mallory to arrive Grandma taught Lucy to pray that the baby would come soon. Now that she has Lucy thanks her Heavenly Father everyday in her prayers "that Mommy pushed baby Mallory out and that Mommy named her Mallory"

Maxwell's excitement mostly comes from everyone else's excitement. However, he does ask to hold her occasionally but will promptly proclaim that she is crying....even when she isn't.

We are now officially outnumbered.

You've had a Birthday...Shout Hooray!

Life sure has been busy. July was a month of birthday's....

First was my birthday on the 13th. Chad and I got to go on a date as my mom was here anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby. Chad also spoiled me with a day of pampering at the spa. I got a pregnancy massage, pedicure and a much needed haircut. It was WONDERFUL!

Next came the arrival of our beautiful baby....Mallory Chappell Rumsey finally decided to make her appearance on the 24th....only 10 days late. But more on that next post.

Finally we ended the month celebrating Lucy on the 29th. Lucy has been planning her birthday for months. She goes on and on about what type of party she is going to have and what friends are going to come. And then her sister interupted the plans by coming so late. We quickly rescheduled her birthday for another day. We invited all her friends over to play in the backyard, have cake and some fun.

Lucy wanted a Rapunzel party, so the plan was to eat cake, watch Tangled in the backyard and end the evening setting off lanterns into the sky. Things did not play out exactly as planned, so we just enjoyed the backyard.

Waiting for friends to arrive

Maxwell's New Bed

With the impending arrival of a new baby and Maxwell giving up naps and getting bigger it was time to move him into a big boy bed. He was so excited to snuggle in it the first time he saw it. What little boy wouldn't?

However, this is how we found them the first night...

And the second night....

Hmmm....wonder how we are going to stop this?

Father's Day

Our lives are filled with so many wonderful Father's its great to have a day to celebrate them. When I told Lucy it was Father's Day she promptly asked when it was kid's day.

These kids sure love their daddy. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful guy in our lives. Happy Father's Day Chad!

New Camera

So after a long time without we got a new camera and I have been loving it! I am so excited to capture all the special/crazy moments my rascals provide. These are a few shots that I caught while playing with it.

This is our "Incredible Hulk". Everyone better watch out when he gets upset. He can also be a little sweetheart and makes us all laugh. He still doesn't say as much as he should but over that past month he has picked up on a lot, including his colors and animal noises. The most frustrating thing for me is that he still refuses to say "Mommy" and so I am still "Daddy."  I try not to take it personally.

How can you not love that face?

Lucy is growing up in so many ways. She has been a such a good helper, especially during church when Mommy has to take Maxwell out of Sacrament. She is also getting very excited for baby to come. She loves to tickle the baby and is convinced that it will be a sister, because she already has a brother.

A quick update on the baby.... I have finally reached the final month. I am not sure if I am more happy or more uncomfortable. I am feeling very big and tired, but glad to finally see the end in sight. And no we still do not know whether it is a boy or girl.

We sure love this crazy little man. Happy Birthday Max!!
