Mallory's Blessing

It was a special perfect day. We are so glad that Grandma and Grandpa Rumsey were there to share it with us.

I think the pictures mostly speak for themselves. We sure have a bunch of cute kids. Welcome to the Rumsey chaos Mallory!

Grandma and Grandpa come to visit

Grandma and Grandpa Rumsey came for a wonderful visit. We headed to Atlantic City to get in some beach time.

Checking out the Atlantic City skyline

Building a sand castle with Daddy

This is how Mallory played at the beach

Don't cross this biker dude

We read books with Grandpa

We also went to Lake Tobias. It had a zoo and safari tour. Maxwell insisted on bringing his camera and took pictures of the animals. Making sure they all said "cheese."

Giving Grandpa a kiss. On the safari tour the animals come right up to the bus and you can even feed them. The kids loved it.

We also headed to Philadelphia....

We saw the Liberty Bell

Yes...Mallory is all wrapped up on me. This wrap has been awesome and so useful.

The kids did lots of running while Daddy and Grandpa stopped to read every sign. That's Independence Hall in the background.

We found a carousel for the kids to ride for a little break from all the tours.

Resting after a long walk through the US Mint

We sure had a lot of fun with Grandma and Grandpa. Thanks for coming to visit us.

First Day of Preschool

This is my big girl on her first day of preschool. She loves school. Even after 2 months she still runs to the door. She has grown-up so much.

What have we been up to

It has been about a month since we brought #3 home and we have certainly been busy. Here is some of what we have done in the past month...

My brother Brett and his new wife Heather came for a visit. We showed them all the best things to do in the area. Hersheypark and Washington DC.

The National Air and Space Museum

Maxwell was in heaven with all the airplanes and spaceships. He was pointing to everything.

Posing with the Wright Brothers...and Uncle Brett too.

Up the steps to visit Abraham Lincoln

Looking way up at Honest Abe

And what's a DC visit without some photography trickery with the Washington Monument??

After we said farewell to Uncle Brett and Aunt Heather we headed to the salon for a haircut.

This is Lucy's first official hair cut. I have trimmed her hair before, but JcPenny was doing free kids cuts and who can pass up free? Lucy thought it was fun and felt so big. She also starts her first day of preschool next week.

We have also been enjoying a lot of this beautiful girl....

When Mallory decides to be awake this is about her level of excitement. I would take more pictures but she mostly does a lot of sleeping, crying and looking a little grumpy.

A rare awake and playful moment.

Perhaps she sleeps so much to avoid these 2 crazy hooligans...

Lucy doesn't give Mallory much peace. Lucy constantly wants to hold her, touch her, talk to her and be as close to her as possible. At least it all comes from love.

A afternoon tea party

Introducing...

Mallory Chappell Rumsey
9 lbs 13 oz and 20 in.
Born July 24th

This little girl waited until the very last possible moment to arrive. After waiting 10 days over my due date, Chad and I headed to the hospital to be induced. When we arrived I was already 4 cm and starting to have contractions. So they broke my water to help things along and boy did that help. After 3 hour and lots of hard contractions Mallory joined us. She was coming so quickly that the doctors and nurses were sprinting to get ready.

That bunch of dark black hair still surprises me.

Getting ready to come home.

Lucy LOVES her new sister. She continues to shower her with lots of love. While we were waiting for Mallory to arrive Grandma taught Lucy to pray that the baby would come soon. Now that she has Lucy thanks her Heavenly Father everyday in her prayers "that Mommy pushed baby Mallory out and that Mommy named her Mallory"

Maxwell's excitement mostly comes from everyone else's excitement. However, he does ask to hold her occasionally but will promptly proclaim that she is crying....even when she isn't.

We are now officially outnumbered.

You've had a Birthday...Shout Hooray!

Life sure has been busy. July was a month of birthday's....

First was my birthday on the 13th. Chad and I got to go on a date as my mom was here anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby. Chad also spoiled me with a day of pampering at the spa. I got a pregnancy massage, pedicure and a much needed haircut. It was WONDERFUL!

Next came the arrival of our beautiful baby....Mallory Chappell Rumsey finally decided to make her appearance on the 24th....only 10 days late. But more on that next post.

Finally we ended the month celebrating Lucy on the 29th. Lucy has been planning her birthday for months. She goes on and on about what type of party she is going to have and what friends are going to come. And then her sister interupted the plans by coming so late. We quickly rescheduled her birthday for another day. We invited all her friends over to play in the backyard, have cake and some fun.

Lucy wanted a Rapunzel party, so the plan was to eat cake, watch Tangled in the backyard and end the evening setting off lanterns into the sky. Things did not play out exactly as planned, so we just enjoyed the backyard.

Waiting for friends to arrive
